Can you help me grind the beans for my order?
TLDR; No, we recommend getting a grinder and DIY grind. It will be the best thing you can do to really elevate your brew experience at home.
To get the best possible experience in your brew, our belief is that coffee should be ground just right before brewing.
Once ground, the shelf life of coffee is significantly reduced; coffee can go stale pretty fast when exposed to air in ground form and lose its flavours quickly (a.k.a. lao hong). This would be made worse whenever the storage container has air drawn in repeatedly.
Another reason is that once ground, you would be “locked” in to a brewing parameter and it would be challenging to make adjustments to your brew to suit your brewing style, brewing device etc. This is very true for espresso, where the window for that “perfect” shot is small and tied closely with the grind.
We recommend getting your own grinder, and fortunately there are many affordable ones out there in the market nowadays that can fit your budget range. It will be the best investment with high ROI for your coffee experience without breaking the bank if you do not already have a grinder.
What is your roasting schedule like?
TLDR; Ad-hoc roasting, with 1-3 business days processing time.
Our current roasting model is roast to order.
Orders will be processed in 1-3 business days, where coffee will be roasted only on order. The cut off time everyday is 5 PM GMT. Orders past the cut off time will be processed the following work day.
How is your roast like?
TLDR; Medium-light roast, with emphasis on fruit acidity and sweetness. Expect to enjoy a coffee that has its inherent fruit character preserved.
It can be difficult to communicate roast level or development even between fellow roasters in the industry; everyone may have a different benchmark as to what constitutes medium or light from their perspective.
You can expect our coffees to retain much of its inherent fruit character (coffee is from a fruit!) with nice acidity and sweetness when brewed well.
If more developed coffees (i.e. dark, oily, roasty etc) is your daily driver, our coffees may not suit your preferences. However, if you are keen to explore a different side to coffee, do give our coffees a shot.

Coffee Beans
How long can the coffee last?
TLDR; 6-8 weeks depending on storage conditions.
This would depend on storage conditions, if the bag has already been opened, how many times the bag is opened and closed etc.
You can expect flavours to start tapering off gradually after a month and we find that the coffee should be best consumed within a month from roast date in that regard.
Note that this is at best an estimate and may differ on conditions at your home as mentioned.
Some telltale signs may include coffee tasting too “flat” or having lost its initial flavours compared to the start. Lack of crema (espresso brewing) or bloom / bubbles (filter brewing) can suggest the coffee has passed its prime.
Tips on making a better brew?
We find if you follow these basic guidelines, you can make great coffee each time at home.
Do note these are just guidelines, and the fun in brewing is experimenting once you are familiar with making great coffee.
Water. Coffee is mostly made out of water (more than 90%) and it should follow that to get good coffee, one should have good water. Consider investing in filtered, clean water. For coffee geeks quite deep in the rabbit hole, making your own water may yield good results.
Grind. To extract the best possible flavours from your coffee, you should be grinding it just before you brew. Investing in a good grinder can go a long way in achieving a good brew. If you don’t already own a grinder and rely on grounded coffee for your brewing, you can drastically see an improvement in your brews when you DIY grind, even with a cheap, affordable grinder.
Weigh. Coffee brewing can often be seen as a science but it does not have to get as complicated as that. Much like baking, consistency and ratios can help to make sure you get the best out of your coffee every single time. To that end, consider investing in a scale with a timer and weigh your doses in and doses out. Note what parameters work and adjust one variable at a time.
Record. A continuation of the previous point, recording your brewing parameters is essential in making a better brew. The basic parameters such as total brew time, input and output can help in diagnosing your brew and knowing what to improve.
How long should I rest my coffee?
Unopened, a minimum of 5 ~ 7 days from roast date. With peak flavours from 14 days onwards. Best to go and trust your taste; if it tastes good to you already then go for it!
Once the bag is opened however, you can expect the degassing / resting process to be accelerated and it can then depend on your storage conditions.
Some telltale signs that may suggest the coffee is too fresh may be difficulty in calibrating the coffee (too tart, sharp acidity, astringency etc). If the coffee exhibits too much crema (espresso brewing) or there is too much bloom / bubbles (filter brewing), the coffee may benefit from more resting.
How should I store my coffee?
It is best to store the coffee in the bag that it came in (with the one-way degassing valve) to allow it to rest and be shielded from light.
Keep the coffee in a dry, cool place away from sunlight.
Drip Bags
How long can the drip bag last?
TLDR; 1-2 months.
As the drip bag contains coffee that has already been ground, the drip bag should be consumed within 1-2 months from the roast date.
